I really like these book covers from http://www.owlsay.etsy.com/. This one is just $10 and fits most small mass market paperbacks (she also makes larger covers.) This is perfect for your books or your child or tween who now reads paperbacks. Will help keep the books in great shape (and look darn cute too!)

A fun book for the season! Jumpy Jack & Googly available at http://www.barnesandnoble.com/.

Meet Jumpy Jack, a very nervous snail who’s afraid of monsters, and Googily, who is a—well, who is a very good friend, indeed. Wherever they go, Googily kindly checks high and low just to make sure there are no scary monsters about. But as every child knows, monsters come in many shapes and sizes. Some are even blue with hairy eyebrows and pointy teeth.

New Wonder Bear Book

This book comes available on September 18th and I definitely think it'll be one to add to our library. It doesn't have any words in it, just pictures that tell a story. Just let your child's imagination run wild and the book will be different each time it is read. Let them help you describe what it going on!

Two kids plant mysterious seeds (all that’s pictured on the envelope is a blue top hat), and up grows a remarkable flowering vine, out of which emerges an even more remarkable big white bear. On his head is the top hat—a hat that allows him to work all kinds of magic that day. He pulls monkey after monkey from the hat, blows bubbles in amazing shapes, and transforms flowers into spectacular floating sea creatures.
The two kids are wide-eyed with wonder, and you will be too. This is a dazzling debut—a vibrant, welcoming, strikingly original picture book
Available at http://www.target.com/ or other retailers.

Quality Playbooks by Nico & Zoe

I love hand made and wooden (note non-toxic) toys and toymakers. And I especially love books! They can keep the kids busy for a long time. So, when visiting 5minutesformom.com awhile back I came across Nico & Zoe's site that sells well made and hand made toys so I had to take a look.

While browsing I came across these fun activity books (there's the frog shown, a cat N mouse, snail and sun) and they are very appealing, especially to me with special needs kids (any book that offers help with fine motor skills is a bonus!) Here is what they had to say about this book:

This wooden play book will help your child develop fine motor skills. A little three dimensional frog is attached to this cute booklet by a red string and matches up to each page through a peephole. Watch as Frog hops into his hole and visits all his friends in the pond. The illustrations are printed directly onto timber derived from managed European forests, and will not peel off.
